🚪 Did You Know? Crossing Doors Can Cause Memory Gaps

Have you ever experienced that strange feeling of walking from one room to another, only to realize that you have completely forgotten why you're there?

You're not alone. Studies have shown that simply crossing a door can disrupt our memory.

This phenomenon, known as the "doorway effect", has been observed in experiments where participants were more likely to forget what they wanted to do or find once they had crossed a door. Researchers believe that this phenomenon is due to how our brain processes information related to our environment.

As we move from one space to another, our brain unconsciously separates information into "packets," which can lead to a temporary "erasure" of memory related to the previous task. This may explain why we often forget why we entered a room after crossing a door.

So, the next time you find yourself standing in the middle of your living room wondering what you wanted to do, simply blame the doorway effect!
